THE CAMPBELLS

Since mom had flown everyone out to spend some time in Hawai'i together, the kids decided to surprise her with a family photo session, memorializing their trip and acknowledging that getting together doesn't happen as often as we all wish.  They even brought ukuleles for the keiki /kids/ to play a quick diddy...

NICK + KELSEY ..ENGAGED!

This love story hits close to home for me...as in my hometown, and the actual home I grew up in...it's the story of my youngest brother Nick, and his high school sweetheart, Kelsey. Back in high school, Nick had asked Kelsey with a microphone, in front of all their friends if she'd be his girlfriend. Now, time to ask an even bigger question, he knew he wanted to ask her in the same way, but bigger...check it out:

THE JIES

Spread across the country, It is rare to see the Jie family altogether in one place. But they made the effort (twist their rubber arms) to get to Hawai'i for their mom's 70th birthday! It was fun to see the cousins explore and play together, and I'm so happy to have captured a rare family photo for them all!

BABY REDMOND ..PART I

Pregnant with their first child, I invited Adam + Vicky to my home for a private maternity session. We quickly got to know each other, and I learned a little history of the name they chose for their baby boy, which came with an amazing story beginning with a little random kindness. This little soul is already so very blessed.

BABY REDMOND ..PART II

After the excitement of a maternity session always comes...the waiting! With great anticipation, Baby Redmond has made his appearance, and boy is he handsome! A newborn session can be tricky, especially if they won't fall asleep. Even though he wanted to stay awake and keep an eye on me...he kept his eye on me! And was a perfect angel. Welcome to the world, Redmond!

THE WENTLANDS

I photographed this family /when they were a family of four/ for the first time when I was pregnant with my 2nd child. So naturally, I was watching them in complete wonderment during the whole session, getting a glimpse of what doubling our load would entail. When they came back to the island as a family of 5, I had just found out I was pregnant again....so I found myself in a deja vu. I was watching very closely this time, as again, these children were some of the most well-behaved, sweet little darlings I'd ever met.

THE OTOOLS

In planning their Hawai'ian vacation from California, the O'Tool family decided to schedule in a family photo session.  They also wanted a backdrop a bit unique to the islands, since they do have nice beaches in California as well.  How about a lava rock shoreline?  This is even fairly unique to the Big Island in particular, as the other islands in the chain have lost a lot of their lava shoreline to sandy beaches over the years....many, many, many years.

THE GOLDMANS

I've had the pleasure of photographing this family for the past couple of years...first when they renewed their vows at their original wedding spot at the Mauna Kea Resort...and again when they came back with their 3rd child!  They are such great people to be around, and I hope to see them again and again!

PRISBY FAMILY

It's a bit unusual showcasing photos of which I'm in, but my husband's family was in town visiting the newest Prisby baby, our Adeline, so of course we had a family photoshoot.  Complete with his parents, his brother's family of 6, his sister's family of 5, and our family of 4, we enjoyed a week of resort relaxing, ruckus in the pool, beach-going, turtle watching, snorkeling, cousin slumber parties and celebrating 2 birthdays!
